All About Me!
Hi, Im Arthur Mason. I am a Teaching Assistant Apprentice for Wheatley Hill Primary School. I wanted to work in a primary school because i love helping young children progress in education and enjoy school life. Before joining the school I studied 'A' Levels at New College Durham and before that I went to Hetton School Cricket Academy where I taught cricket to East Rainton Primary School children. I also had work experience in my old primary school in Sherburn Village. I am looking forward to supporting after school sports clubs.
My role at Wheatley Hill is to support pupils and staff within the Base (the Enhanced Mainstream Provision). I am really enjoying encouraging the children to learn through classroom and outdoor activities. I have already been involved in some fantastic outdoor education visits to Raby Castle and Binchester Roman Fort.
I live at home with my Mum and Dad and 14 year old bother Edward. I played rugby union for Durham City from 4 years old until 18. I now play senior rugby for Houghton Rugby Club. In the summer I play cricket for Belmont Cricket Club and in October I had a great experience playing a final at the Riverside Durham County ground. When i'm not playing cricket I spend a lot of time sea finish and playing cricket on the beach in Filey where we have a beach hut. I am also a huge Leeds Rhinos Rugby League fan.
